Merritt J. Schwan, 85, of Cottonwood, died Monday, Jan. 18. He was born July 3, 1924, in Mt. Clemens, Mich.
He was preceded in death by wife Norma (White) Schwan, and his second wife Violet Schwan and daughter Penny.
He is survived by son Craig A. Schwan; brothers Walter, Glen and Norman Schwan, and sister Ellen Schwan.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Virgil and Margaret Nichols and Herb and Helen Davidson and nephew Cory Scholfield.
She leaves her parents; brother David Nichols (Robin); sister Cindy Scholfield; nephews Dustin and Tyler Scholfield; nieces Ali and Candice Nichols.
