Camp Verde High School summer wrestling team, New Breed, is making a name for itself this summer.
“I was very impressed with the kids,” CVHS wrestling coach Bob Weir said. “I’ve coached these kids for a long time, and they did an outstanding job at this tournament against tough competition.” The wrestlers earned a 11-0 dual record, making them one of just two teams to leave the tournament undefeated. The most exciting match for CVHS was when the team defeated the four-time reigning California state champions, Poway. “That was a great feeling,” Weir said.
