While spring is dedicated to baseball, softball and track, the boys of fall are getting in shape for football season.
The Camp Verde High School football team will start spring football this month, and it will be a little different than past years.
The program will reach out to elementary- and middle-school-aged children to participate. The spring clinic, which starts Monday, April 29, will be open to fifth-graders through high school juniors.
The clinic will be every Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the CVHS practice field. The boys will work on drills such as passing and speed and agility as well as play seven-on-seven scrimmages with no live contact. The coaches will work on timing with the quarterbacks, passing work with the wide receivers and footwork with the linemen. Of course, they will also be in the weight room.
