Having gone undefeated throughout the regular season, the Verde Valley Giants baseball team was served a bit of humble pie Friday, June 8, losing to the Prescott Valley Red Sox, 8-6.

Verde Valley came into the Tournament of Champions this past weekend with a near perfect 17-0-1 record but struggled early against the Red Sox at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley on Friday.

“Of course we had to play one of our worst games of the season. We had four errors in the game,” longtime skipper Pete Kelly said.
