Print Fighting Scouts end Cowboys’ season in state tournament

The Cowboys’ hopes for a state championship title ended early Saturday night when the No. 3-seeded team knocked them out of the state tournament.

The defensive pressure helped the Window Rock Fighting Scouts win the game 47-26.The No. 14-ranked Camp Verde High School girls basketball team made it to the second round of the 2013 Arizona Interscholastic Association Girls Basketball Division III State Championship, but was beaten by the Window Rock Fighting Scouts [20-9], 47-26, on Saturday, Feb. 16, in front of a massive crowd at Northern Arizona University’s J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome.

The Cowboys huddle before the game.The Fighting Scouts outscored the Cowboys throughout the entire game, capitalizing on numerous steals, and made the Cowboys not click together like they usually do.
