The Verde Valley Majors All-Stars baseball team [ages 11 to 12] began practice Monday, June 18, with a goal in mind of winning the district championship.

“This is probably the best time I’ve ever had here,” Verde Valley skipper Pete Kelly said. “Our strength is our pitching, and we go 12 deep on our team. There are plenty of guys that can play a lot of positions if need be.”

Kelly, who has coached within the confines of the Verde Valley Little League for 10 years, will take Verde Valley to the District 10 Arizona Little League Majors All-Stars Tournament beginning Monday, July 2. It is Kelly’s sixth all-star team to date.
