Rilla Jean Shires, 83, of Cottonwood, died Aug. 8.

She was preceded in death by husband Dick Shires; and sisters Elizabeth Cary, Edith Mundorf, and Francis Silk.

She is survived by children Dan [Hui Suk], Sam [Madeline] and Jean Shires; grandchildren Chris, Cory, Mitchell [Teesha], Matt [Briana] and Lindsey Shires; three great-grandchildren; brothers Alan, Robert and David DeKay; sisters Ruth Ireland, Mary Neary, Barbara Eshelman and Jane Pelzer.

Memorial service: Wednesday, Aug. 15, 3 p.m., Mountain View United Methodist Church, 901 S. 12th St., Cottonwood.
