Perry Starr, formerly of the Verde Valley, died Sept. 17.

Born Sept. 9, 1948, in Nemcolin, Pa., Starr resided at his wilderness ranch southwest of Seligman since 2002.

A small family service was held Sept. 24 at his home. A potluck memorial benefit will be held at Riverfront Park, Ramada C, in Cottonwood on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m.
