Long standing as a landmark in Clarkdale, the Clark Mansion was a fixture in the Verde Valley.Flames engulf historic Clark Mansion, which caught fire sometime before 4:30 a.m. June 25, 2010. Clarkdale and Cottonwood fire departments and the Sedona, Camp Verde and Verde Valley fire districts all responded to battle the blaze. The building, built in the 1920s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was a total loss, but the site may be rezoned by the town of Clarkdale.

That is, until the mansion was destroyed by fire June 25, 2010, under circumstances authorities classified as suspicious.

Built in the 1920s for William Clark III, the grandson of the William Clark who gave Clarkdale its name in the days of copper mining, the house sat on around five acres of land near Pecks Lake, by the intersection of Sycamore Canyon and Tuzigoot roads.
