The city of Cottonwood has a new food bank.
The Rising Hope Food Pantry offers residents shelves of canned and dry goods, freezers full of meats and tables of produce and bread at no charge, and will be open Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cottonwood Christian Assembly members Darrell and Pat Dierks led the effort to open the food bank, which is located in the church’s gymnasium, just behind the main church building. Judging by the number of residents served on its first day, the food pantry appears to be a great success already.
