As crews make final preparations to open the southbound on ramp from State Route 69 onto Interstate 17 and the southbound on-ramp onto southbound I-17 from the Arcosanti traffic interchange on Thursday, Jan. 24, the following closures and restrictions will be in place (weather permitting) on Interstate 17 and State Route 69 at Cordes Junction next week, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation:

Monday, Jan. 21:  
▪     A left lane restriction on northbound I-17 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
▪     Shoulder closures in both directions on I-17 at milepost 262 (Cordes Junction off-ramp) and on SR 69 at milepost 263 westbound (toward Prescott) between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
▪     A right lane restriction on southbound I-17 between 7 a.m. and noon

Tuesday, Jan. 22:
▪     A right lane restriction on northbound I-17 between 7 a.m. and noon
▪     Shoulder closures in both directions on I-17 (Cordes Junction off-ramp) and on SR 69 westbound (toward Prescott) between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
▪     A left lane restriction on northbound I-17 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
▪     A right lane restriction on southbound I-17 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
▪     A right lane restriction on southbound SR 69 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 23:
▪     Shoulder closures in both directions on I-17 (Cordes Junction off-ramp) and on SR 69 westbound (toward Prescott) between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
▪     Drivers on southbound I-17 will be shifted through a detour over the Arcosanti bridge to the SR 69 on-ramp back onto southbound I-17 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Thursday, Jan. 24:
▪     Shoulder closures in both directions on I-17 (Cordes Junction off-ramp) and on SR 69 westbound (toward Prescott) between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
▪     A left lane restriction on southbound I-17 between 7 p.m. and midnight
▪     A left lane restriction on northbound I-17 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Friday, Jan. 25:
▪     Shoulder closures in both directions on I-17 (Cordes Junction off-ramp) and on SR 69 westbound (toward Prescott) between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The work is part of a $50 million project to modernize the I-17/SR 69 interchange. The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
