After a two-year break from offering headlining performers, the Verde Valley Fair is again bringing in top-bill acts to entertain visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, May 2 to 6, at the Verde Valley Fairgrounds in Cottonwood.

Wyatt Smith, 15, scratches his steer, Gus, behind the ears before leading him off for a bath and a brush at a Camp Verde ranch Thursday, April 26. Smith and Gus, along with all the other National FFA Organization and PALS students in the Verde Valley, will compete in the livestock showing at the Verde Valley Fair which begins Wednesday, May 2.This year’s entertainment will include country music singer-songwriter Gwen Sebastian who is well-known from the television talent show “The Voice.” She has also been invited to tour with country music artist Blake Shelton.

The Street Drum Corps will also appear, a group that has been described as “an American punk rock percussion band.” The Street Drum Corps has performed with members of the rock band No Doubt and appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 2006.

Fair co-director Michael Searle said of the “ramped up” entertainment bill, “I think we’ve got some new things, and some things people have grown accustomed to, too.”
