Library catalogs local materials

The Camp Verde Community Library held events this year where local artists and filmmakers could meet the community.

Kathy Hellman of the Camp Verde Public Library on Saturday, Aug. 17, holds two books by local authors, “Released: The Shapeshifters’ Library, Vol. 1,” by Amber Polo and “Willowtree” by Mike Bove. Those authors gave their works to be kept at the local library. It’s just that the library didn’t have a decent way to catalog its offerings. Because of that, local librarians have been training in ways to properly record the materials they receive.

Library Director Kathy Hellman, employee and former library director Gerry Laurito and volunteer Ann Rasor recently underwent training with Megan Hammond with the Yavapai County Library District.

For the full story, see the Wednesday, Aug. 21, edition of the The Camp Verde Journal.
