The Camp Verde Journal took home several awards Saturday, Oct. 15, from the Arizona Newspapers Association Better Newspapers Contest, including top honors for photography.

ANA awarded the Journal with first place for Best Use of Photography, while photojournalist Michele Bradley won first place for her sports photo, “The Longest Mile.” The photo was taken at a mile swimming event.

Overall, the Journal took second place for General Excellence in the non-daily circulation under 3,500 category.

The newspaper took home second place for its website, journalaz.com, and third place in Page Design Excellence and Special Section, Newspaper Supplement or Magazine for “Green.”
