Diaper drive helps low-income families

Diapers are expensive; there’s no getting around it. Providing clean diapers for a baby can be a financial burden, particularly for single mothers or other low-income families.

A Yavapai Diaper Drive collection bin occupies a prominent spot in the children’s room at the Cottonwood Public Library on Thursday, April 19. The donation sites for the First Things First drive are located in Verde Valley libraries through Sunday, May 13.Residents around Yavapai County are being given the opportunity to help thanks to First Things First, a program with offices around the state dedicated to fostering early childhood development and health, funded after approval from voters in a 2006 ballot initiative.

Now through Sunday, May 13, the organization is holding a diaper drive throughout Yavapai County.
