Town sets limits for river cruises

The town of Clarkdale has established limits on commercial customers that will take advantage of services to boat on the Verde River during the upcoming 2015 season.The town of Clarkdale has set a final cap on the number of people allowed to kayak between the Lower TAPCO and Tuzigoot access points. Where the kayaking portion of the Verde River ends at Tuzigoot, it becomes shallow and rocky, but still suitable for day use.​

The move came during the Town Council’s Jan. 13 meeting.

City to simplify food truck rules

The Cottonwood City Council is looking to finalize the rules governing mobile food vendors within city limits.The restaurants and businesses that line Main Street in Old Town are known as “brick and mortar” locations. Recently, Cottonwood finalized a different set of rules for food trucks, which are more popular in the warmer months.​

The council discussed the revisions at a work session Jan. 13.

Chamber gets a second chance

The Camp Verde Chamber of Commerce is getting a reboot.Camp Verde’s Chamber of Commerce is in the process of being reinstated after several years of absence. The project is being spearheaded by Tom Pitts, a man who has sat on many  committees and boards throughout the Verde Valley, including the Jerome Chamber of Commerce.​

Tom Pitts, a local resident who has long been active in Verde Valley affairs, is working to get all the ducks in a row in order to restart the local chamber.
