Town approves budget & taxes

Tuzigoot celebrates its 75th year

There was a birthday celebration in Clarkdale last week.Inside Tuzigoot’s museum and gift shop, visitors can view  artifacts and photographs, gaining a glimpse into the monument’s past. Tuzigoot officially became a national monument on July 25, 1939, 75 years ago.

The ruins that sit atop a hill in Clarkdale were part of an ancient apartment complex, today called Tuzigoot.

Town considers cuts at library

The Town of Camp Verde is continuing to look for solutions to cut costs involved with the construction of a new library.While the bids for the new library building were rejected, Youth Services Librarian Dianna Manasse, left, and Library Specialist Alice Gottschalk will stay busy in the current building. The library will now be open on Mondays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The project has been in the works for awhile, but recently hit a bit of a snag.
