Reclaimed water quenches plants

The city of Cottonwood is putting its reclaimed wastewater to work, in part to help grow vines at the Southwest Wine Center on the campus of Yavapai College in Clarkdale.Roger Biggs, of Cottonwood’s Utilities Department, uses a map to explain the Riverfront Project, which would use a second wastewater treatment facility to avoid the inefficiency of pumping it uphill with lift stations.

The cost is 92 cents for 1,000 gallons of water.

City entertains plans to bolster Old Town’s feel

The city of Cottonwood is looking at ways to help promote the continued development of Old Town and other areas.The city of Cottonwood is looking for ways to expand its Old Town revitalization efforts. Among them are establishing an entertainment district, promoting the wineries and brew pubs and additional parking.

One potential idea is the creation of an Entertainment District.

FAA to Cottonwood: Straighten up and fly right

Bob Backus was doing what any businessman would do.An array of planes are tied down under cover at Cottonwood Municipal Airport, calling its hangars home. Recently, the FAA found the airport to be non-compliant with regulations that accompany federal grants.

Cottonwood officials were trying to spur economic development that would generate tax revenue and create jobs.
