The Clarkdale Historical Society and Museum is looking to preserve the old clubhouse at what was once the Verde Valley Country Club.The Verde Valley Country CLUBhouse sits on Pecks Lake Road on private property. While the path to the clubhouse is blocked, the Historical Society wants to save the abandoned building, which is in danger of being knocked down.

The building, near Peck’s Lake, was built in 1922.

Jenn McCarthy is on an adventure.Jenn McCarthy is working as a volunteer and a camp host at Dead Horse Ranch State Park, one stop on her tour of the West. McCarthy is currently traveling for research on a book she’s writing. McCarthy is originally from Toronto, but for the past couple of decades she’s called Los Angeles home.

Last week, part of that adventure included being on office duty at Dead Horse Ranch State Park, where McCarthy is working as a volunteer and a camp host.
