The Camp Verde Town Council last week rejected all bids for the construction of a new Camp Verde Community Library.A hot topic concerning Camp Verde’s budget is the new public library. The current library is housed in a modest building that is rapidly being outgrown.

Seven bids had been received for the project, the lowest being around $3.1 million.

Camp Verde has been working for years to build a new modern library.Dianna Manasse, youth services librarian at Camp Verde Public Library, speaks about the new library building at the Town Council meeting on June 11. Manasse is in favor of the original two-story design for the building, while many others in town feel it is not in the budget, referring to it as a “Taj Mahal.”

The Town Council is considering different options to get the project completed in the face of the reality of available funding for the project.
