Tim Smith drove a truck for 20 years.Tim Smith opened a dollar store in the Outpost Mall in Camp Verde at the end of March and he says business is going pretty well. Before that, Smith drove a truck for 20 years, ending after vision in one of his eyes got too bad to keep his commercial driver’s license. When he’s not working, Smith said he enjoys fishing, and has three boats, each one with a different purpose.
“It was a refrigerated box truck,” Smith said. “I did route work.”

The Town of Camp Verde has been working on more efficient ways to spread the word about important news to residents.Camp Verde is trying to spread the word about its new electronic newsletter. The newsletter will be distributed on a monthly basis via email, and will contain information on events and the town’s goings-on.

The town also wants to help spread the word about spreading the word.

The Town of Camp Verde Planning and Zoning Commission continues to work on efforts to define “character areas” in the town.At the end of Pecan Lane, just before the Black Bridge, sits a historic marker, detailing the origin of the trees and the impact they played on the community.

Such places include areas like the Pecan Lane area along Montezuma Castle Highway.

It’s July in Camp Verde and while that brings the monsoon, it also means it’s time for sweet corn.Walter Miller may have been the corniest person at Cornfest 2013. While others were content eating corn, Miller chose to become it. The 23rd annual event will be held on Friday and Saturday, July 18 and 19.

Camp Verde Cornfest organizer Nikki Miller is just hoping they don’t both come at the same time.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic charity organization that operates around the world and has been in existence for nearly two centuries.Donna McDonald, right, and Cheryl Pugh are spearheading a church group that helps people get jobs. The group helps clients create resumes, or modify existing ones, tailoring them to a specific job, as well as helping match people with positions that suit them, among many other things.

The group has thousands of members in many countries across the planet.
